LOVEBULLETS AT SHANGRI-LA, GLASTONBURY AND NEW RANGE ANNOUNCED
LOVEBULLETS is the name around everyone’s neck; from Lily Allen to Mark Ronson, Pixie Geldof, and Nick Grimshaw to Calvin Harris et al… Anyone whose anyone has been spotted wearing the special necklaces in recent times. And now, for summer 2011, in support of Warchild and in celebration of a new collection LOVEBULLETS are planning events of epic proportions across UK festivals. Calling upon some of their most talented friends to create parties to remember with both music performances and interactive fashion exhibits…and the best bit, everyone’s invited.
LOVEBULLETS AT SHANGR-LA, GLASTONBURY
Starting at Glastonbury in the legendary Shangri-La area, LBHQ has a bespoke structure made from cutting edge material which allows short-term construction on multiple levels. This groundbreaking structure has been developed by THE HALO GROUP. The theme for LBHQ is a Rio de Janeiro favela exterior contrasted by an open planned modern art interior of slick white with splashes of pop art colour. The shack is on two floors with a downstairs party area and an upstairs chill out area with chesterfields, cocktail lounge and a photographic studio for an interactive live art exhibit to take place. And for the first year the traditionally night time only area will be open all day AND all night.
LBHQ will be based in the Shangri-La area and open every day and night-fall for the duration of the festival. Thursday is programmed by Jade Jagger’s legendary Jezebel, Friday sees Californian denim pioneers KR3W take over. Saturday day time is with You Are We. Its distinct sound has quickly secured a loyal following of knowledgeable music fans and is currently hosting some of East London’s best warehouse parties. Kubicle take over from midnight. Kubicle is at the forefront of electronic music with residents for the night including - Jamie Jones, Clive Henry and Lee Foss. Sunday is grand finale with current DJ heroes Soul Clap and Wolf Lamb going head to head for a 6 hour take over. LOVEBULLETS philosophy is 3 dimensional and wishes to include all. The music policy is such that all genres of music are welcome. There will also be some surprise drop in sets from some VERY special friends…
The photographic studio upstairs is to make way for the LOVEBULLETS WARPAINT concept.
Festival goers will be taken to the studio and given plain LOVEBULLET vest tops. Once inside the studio their vest tops will be shot with colourful splashes of paint by the LoveBullies. The result is a customised LOVEBULLETS WARPAINT vest top and a memorable festival moment. LOVEBULLETS are currently looking for photographers to capture the action. D1 Model scouts will be choosing festival goers to take part in the live WARPAINT shoot.
LOVEBULLETS are excited to invite artist JONATHAN DARBY to the project. His socio-political art and interlinking symbols of positive and negative imagery is in synch with the LOVEBULLETS philosophy. His most recent exhibition “Favela” portrays the expressions and innocence of children living and surviving within the harsh environment of the Favela slums. The concept of this exhibition will form the LBHQ WARCHILD shop.
To gain the desired contrasting effect, JONATHAN DARBYS’ inspirational Favela work will be integrated into the contemporary 3D graffiti shapes of street artist ZEUS. His specialised work of forming letters and shapes into 3D structures has revolutionised graffiti art.
Not content with one spot in Glastonbury LOVEBULLETS will also be hosting some amazing parties the HUB area! in the daytime at Shangr-La with YOYO Soundsystem (with Leo Greenslade and Seb Chew), Sway, DJ Cameo and more. As with LBHQ there will also be some extra SPECIAL guests popping in for DJ sets, names of which will be announced nearer the time…
THE NEW LOVEBULLETS COLLECTION
The collection is the most stylish way to raise awareness and funds for LB chosen charity Warchild.
The Spring/Summer2011 LOVEBULLET TWIST range is 12 shades deep and all hold secret messages inside, just TWIST to reveal! We will be backstage to see who will be wearing them this year! They are surely essential summer attire for both the boys and girls, colours being released throughout the summer.
LOVEBULLETS AND WARCHILD
LOVEBULLETS have long been admirers of the work done by international charity War Child. To support the inspirational work done in war torn areas by WARCHILD, LOVEBULLETS have developed a special edition WARCHILD LOVE BULLET. 50% of all profits made from the WARCHILD LOVE BULLET will be donated to this cause.
The SPECIAL EDITION WAR CHILD LOVE BULLET will be available to buy from June 2011.
LOVEBULLETS STORY
The LOVEBULLETS ideology came to life in 2008 at Glastonbury as the first LOVETANK (a decommissioned army tank converted into a DJ booth) took over the Shangri-La area. Last year a new gold leaf LOVETANK made its way onto the festival circuit for the first time. LOVEBULLETS aims to take something negative (the bullets from war torn zones) and through music and art turn them into something positive (pieces of jewellery that raises funds for Warchild.)
