It is 2009, which means that the FM4 FREQUENCY Festival, presented by Orange is going to take place for the ninth time since its birth in 2001.
The Frequency is well known for its surprises and special features, and this year we are able to announce a special innovation: this year we will change the venue, and move from Salzburg to St. Pölten! “why?” well, we have the possibilities and the infrastructure there to produce a more eco conscious event. The location is also easier to get to and the extra space allows for more stages. More stages = more fun. Plus the backdrop of the River Traisen is perfect for mid-partying chill outs.
New for 2009:
DAYPARK - NIGHTPARK
We are planning to split up the area into two sectors: The DAYPARK where our awesome concerts will take place and for sundown there is the NIGHTPARK, giving space to our fabulous after hour parties.
The Nightpark can only be described as a festival within a festival with hidden parties that only those bothering to explore will find.
The OPEN STAGE (Contest) has already started!
As with previous years the unique OPEN STAGE Contest will take place during the FM4 Frequency Festival.
Ever the diplomat Frequency has decided that only the crowd will decide who is going to perform. You vote for the bands and artists you´d like to see, and so the line-up is made up automatically according to the votes. In order to upload material you can find a tool on the Frequency homepage for bands and other artists (registration period by the end of May 2009).
The deadline for the (online) application is May 15th 2009. The Online-Voting will end on May 31st. Winners will be announced on 1st July 2009.
ELEKTRO TENT
Digital sounds and exciting decoration on the Frequency Festival will turn the night into day. Chosen designers and visual artists are also on hand to make a complete performance.
